Tyrrell County Courthouse Addition                           Columbia, North Carolina

This two-part project involved the renovation of an existing hardware store to provide space for the clerk of court, courtroom, jury room, judge’s chambers, Sheriff’s office, Highway Patrol office and associated restrooms and waiting areas. A new façade for the existing hardware store was included. The other aspect of the project required the fit-up of the existing Department of Social Services building for the Tyrrell County Extension Office. As part of the master plan, a courtyard was created merging an existing statue with new brick walkways and landscaped beds. The project was funded in part by a grant from USDA Rural Development.
