Buccaneer's Walk Kitty Hawk, North Carolina The architecture reflects a New England fishing village. In order to achieve the eclectic style of a village built over several generations, the design of each section had to vary greatly. The roofs had to appear pieced together as if built by ten people instead of one. However eclectic, there was still the need to tie the complex together. The ‘lighthouse’ serves to end the structure visually and draw the visitor in from the road. The more formal true two store element on the south end completes the opposite side of the building and provides a transition to the existing restaurant. In the middle is the office cupola which is the focal point and hinge which ties the two wings together.
